Female reproductive organs are a group of organs involved in the reproductive system, in this case to prepare for pregnancy until delivery. Each reproductive organ is designed with their respective functions. These organs are owned by women from birth, but their reproductive abilities will only begin after puberty. The structure and female reproductive organs play an important role in the process of reproduction, which includes the menstrual cycle, conception (when the egg is fertilized by sperm), pregnancy, and childbirth. According to its location, female reproductive organs can be divided into two, namely organs that are on the outside of the body and organs that are inside the body.

  • Vaginal opening

  • This is the entrance to the vagina.

  • Clitoris

  • The clitoris is a small protrusion at the top of the labia minora, which is very sensitive and is a major source of female sexual pleasure.
  • Bartholin gland or vestibular gland

  • This gland is located on both sides of the vaginal opening, and functions to produce thick mucus to lubricate the vagina during intercourse.

Inner Female Reproductive Organs

Female reproductive organs in the body, located in the pelvic cavity (pelvis). These organs include:
  • Vagina

  • This organ is located between the lower part of the uterus and the outer body. The vagina is the passageway or the way out for childbirth, as well as the entry point for the penis during intercourse.
  • Cervix or cervix

  • The cervix is ​​the entrance between the vagina and uterus, which is in the form of a narrow passage. The cervical wall is flexible, so it can stretch and open the birth canal during labor.

  • Ovary (ovary)

  • This organ is a small oval gland located on both sides of the uterus. The ovaries function to produce eggs and produce the main sex hormones, namely estrogen and progesterone, which are released into the bloodstream.
  • Fallopian tubes or fallopian tubes

  • Fallopian tubes are narrow channels that attach to the upper part of the uterus leading to the ovaries. This channel is the path for eggs from the ovaries to the uterus, as well as the place of fertilization of eggs by sperm.
